Giant IT Projects -- Can you relate:)?
A common reality on large IT implementations is that after 80% of the planned work is complete and the spend is at 150% of budget and the project is a year late, the CEO proclaims, "enough is enough!" At that point the consulting staff is slashed by two-thirds and the scope is cut resulting in the new, modern system being dumbed-down into an IP-powered version of the legacy system, with no more features or capabilities.
